FTS's AMMAD Mk 2 safely neutralizes (triggers) land-based magnetically-fused mines before a vehicle passes over the threat. The system works by generating a magnetic field that precedes the vehicle at a safe standoff range (5 ft. to 16 ft. in front of the vehicle).

The AMMAD Mk 2 system provides an end-to-end solution to the threat of magnetically-fused mines (as well as other explosive devices), and is specifically designed to defeat active, passive, and dual-mode mines. The AMMAD Mk 2 is designed with open architecture to allow for constant upgrades and improvements as the threat menu continues to evolve over time.

The system can also be used in combination with other mechanical / electronic systems designed to detect, dislodge and/or defeat surface-scattered and buried mines & IED's, including, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), metal detectors, rollers and track-width mine plows.

The AMMAD Mk 2 is equipped with four rugged emitters, a power box housing the waveform generation circuitry and control logic, and a control box. The system weighs approximately 200 kg including the mechanical mounting adaptor tailored the specific host vehicle, and can be mounted on nearly any type of motor vehicle. Customized mounting adaptors / hardware are provided for virtually any platform/vehicle.
